Alcoy is world famous for its Moors and Christians festival (April) but it is a city which still contains vestiges of its 40,000 year history. Round off the day with a visit to a Turron factory in Xixona (specially for the sweet-toothed).

Directions from Torrevieja: Take C-3321 at outskirts of Torrevieja until crossroads with N-332. Turn right towards La Marina. There take CV-853 until crossroads with C-3317. Turn right and follow until crossroads with N-340. Turn right towards Elche and join A-7 towards Alicante. Take Mutxamel Exit from A7 and follow until crossroads with N-340. Follow N-340 to Xixona.
Directions from Benidorm:Take A-7 Motorway towards Alicante. Leave motorway at N-340 Exit (Xixona) and follow to Xixona. Leave Xixona via N-340 towards Alcoy.
